to the light

I got stopped by the security the day of the picture, they told me I could not take pictures of federal buildings, I said I could, the buildings are public, they weren't sure so they said have a nice day. I was stopped a month before by the FBI, They took my camera and my ID, 30 min later they said have a nice day.... you have to love the security of today

Very nice... and apparently dangerous, as well.

I get asked by security personnel in downtown L.A. to not take pictures of the buildings. I don't think it's a matter of security, but that there's some copyright issues with the skyscrapers. I've never made a federal case of it (because I can just cross the street and not be on their property), and I've never had a run-in with the FBI, but maybe next time I'll ask what they're going to do if I keep shooting.

@Doug: Thanks for stopping by. I close to D.C. there is a street that was paved by a private company. There have been protests there by photographers because you cant take photos there. It is interesting the way people react by you taking a picture of them or of a building.

Perfect exposition. Love the scene. Without the person, this picture does not have the same impact! Great composition. The black and white is also a good choice. Look at the ceiling, looks like a drawing by Escher.

@Olivier Racine: I agree about the person, He was walking by and I to 4 exposures, this one came out the best. I was not sure about the blur, but I think I like it.
